I got really angry earlier this day, when I tried to do the said quest above.
I paid Family Reputation to Pharrel, to try getting the Magical Paraffin from a solo instance, and that's when the problems begins.
I think the Fire Candler that spawns from the mission is the instance version. Beside due to my character gears, or some other reason, it wasn't being able to hurt my fighter; I couldn't get it's health down to about 5/6 of the bar after 10 minutes of the mission, or even close to 5/6 of the bar I'd say. Includding the fact that the mission lasts for 30 minutes.
After noticing me furious about this, my brother told me that when his friend, who's also playing in this server, did the quest, she climbed the stairway and activated a machine up there, and then the mission ended and she got the paraffin. And I checked a video he showed me, and yes, that's what is supposed to happen. Activating a machine on top of the stairway should trigger a cutscene, then end the mission.
I tried doing the same, and the machine started shining, and showing the message "The Machine Device starts to shine." everytime I clicked it. Nothing else happened.
After I calmed down from this frustration, which was a while ago, I tried to do the quest again. Paid again the family reputations, and had the same result. Went up top and tried activating the machine, and nothing out of the mentioned above happened. Fire Candler, there's no way I can drop it's health to 0 in time.
The only way I managed to proceed, was by paying Pharrel 3 Platinum Bars, which made him give me instantly the paraffin I was needing.
Beside the solution is said above, It's very frustrating the fact that one of the alternatives is broken and may end up being a waste of time.
