Freezes

hi ~ My english kinda bad, sorry ~
My problem is: game starting to statter and lag at any settings after 1 minute of playing. The more I play the stronger lag is. Sometimes even my mouse starting to glow.
Problem appeared when I got a 08/12/2020 microsoft windows 10 update for 1607 ltsb.
What did I try already:
- upgraded my windows to 1809 ltsc
- reinstall the game
- cleaning dram cache
- tryed this one https://granado-espada.to/index.php?threads/the-game-freezes-every-10-seconds.254/
- mudfish vpn
- reinstall the game using nvme drive (dont see any lag but game just doesnt launch without emergency.bat)
- monitoring pc resources (no anomaly found)
- min-max graphic settings
- administrator mode, compatibility mode

Actually, it makes game kinda unplayable sadly :< I dunno ~ You just cant even press spacebar properly when every 2 seconds game just stutter >_<

You aren't the only person with this problem. I am myself experiencing this and had reports from two players as well.
There is also such a problem reported at Steam for SeaGE, see here.

Here is what I can suggestyou do do.
1. Uninstall your current graphic driver and install a graphic driver that is 14-21 days older.
2. Make sure your windows update doesn't automatically update to the newest graphic driver again, see point 1.
3. Revert your latest windows updates, for Windows 8 and Windows 10 there is a function, please check Google/Youtube.

For my own machines, I managed to fix the issue by reverting the windows updates from last and this week.
After that I have delayed Windows Updates for 14 days, I suppose until then a fix will be available.

I think I solved my issue in an accident D:
Like, I updated my .NET Framework with windows update center and now game works perfectly again D: Its kinda strange because I didnt touched .net at all when this stutter stuff happened D:

I had this problem on retail as well, the problem followed me here. Idk if it helps someone troubleshoot the issue, but it happens exclusively when you move your mouse. Restarting the game doesn't negate the lag, but restarting your computer does (until it builds back up again).

Here's a video of me reproducing the issue with a frame counter and you can see what I mean. (This video was taken on retail but it happens here too)

I actually tried november nvidia drivers yesterday, after 3 hours of playing no issues found.
But i had pretty same situation after .net update, so i cant be sure is it fixed or not.
Btw, tryed that anti-spy windows 10 programs (eco and smth like oowo or obobo, dont remember), its actually changing nothing for me..

Fun fact, this problem just started happening to me in a different game entirely (League of Legends). Not just a GE problem.

I'm cautiously optimistic that I have solved this issue for myself by disabling "gaming mode" in windows 10 settings.

Seems to be GPU Driver update for me , as i just yesterday happen to install the newest Nvidia Driver. since then after the client runs for 1 hour the Chopping start. but for me yet only the Camera if i move it, anything else still fluent.

The installing of old drivers fixed the issue..

IMC has confirmed what players and our server staff already knew.
Their solution is posted here and it's exactly what we have suggested. They say the newest driver must be uninstalled and an older one must be installed.

I had the same issue for the last ten-ish days [since registration] (Windows 10 2004, GTX 970).
At first game was working properly, but after some time fast mouse movement starts causing graphics freezing. Client restart was NOT helping at all. The only way to temporary fix the problem was PC restart.
I tried installing/reinstalling different driver versions. My conclusion was that driver reinstallation fixes problem temporary and equals to PC restart.

But hear and rejoice. For I have found a solution! (at least for me)
GE engine is a steaming piece of shit. Especially rendering. In which case you use a solution: directx wrapper. (specifically, dgVoodoo2)
There are lots of cases when old game is saved by some kind of a wrapper. Heroes 3/4, Disciples 2, Diablo 1 and most of other games which are made to run properly by .dll replacement. While GE is not that old, but from the technical point of view it's not that much different.

If you will be trying to use dgVoodoo:
1) Drop all 4 .dll files from dgvoodoo archive /MS/x86/ into GE/release/ folder.
2) Run dgvoodooCpl (Control Panel) configurator and choose GE/release/ folder as a config folder.
My settings:
In General - D3D12 lvl12, your primary GPU (970 in my case or something other than integrated graphics in your case), fullscreen default, appearance windowed unspecified, all ticks off except for keep windows aspect ration and capture mouse (capture mouse didn't work for me as I expected it should).
In glide - Keep things the way they are. Glide is unused.
In DirectX - Card fx5700, VRAM 512 MB (not sure it matters), filtering app driven, res unforced, MSAA app driven, all ticks off except for force vSync and fast mem access. If you are not sure whether you have copied files properly and chosen game folder - tick on watermark (it will show ingame in bottom right corner).

Once again: so far it works for me. For the whole day. I have not restarted PC yet.
If you don't trust dgVoodoo, you can try more popular DXVK.
