Hi,

first of all I’m happy to join you guys :)

I have played GE back until 2013 so I missed a lot of new things until now but I an trying to catch up.

my favourite topic is still the same: MMA characters. My favorite party back in time could not do without Jean-Pierre Gascon, even if he wasn’t meta back then and I cannot imagine him being playable right now.

I read around that Compendium was nerfed hard a couple years ago, so it is not the best thing to invest in right now. But is there a way to make a MMA team work? For example with the help of some particular buffers or some new character that synergizes well with them.

Thank you

Probably it was me who told it on Steam, lol...
Anyway, its the same- pure old MMA ( Soso, Gascon, Irawan, Gracielo, and Sorang) are weak atm. Try Coa if you're into martial chars, but she isnt a char you can easily recruit. And she dont use MAC.
Or simply play Ania, for example. She is not MACompedium user, but her aesthetics are nearly the same- pure melee combat with "MMA-like" moveset. At least she is viable (+5 DR on block, stat scaling, Mortal Wound, a lot of block).
I dunno about PVP as i always was a rare guest on Clique or even cross, but PVE with MMA... Well, going against the meta in GE is hard by itself, but it sounds to me like an old joke about Tiburon pwnage. Like... Theoretically possible with insane overgear, but...why?

Thanks for your answer. May I ask one more question about MMA-characters?
Well, in game I saw some new characters, who use close combat martial arts. What about Ciel? She use SAVAT - real martial art born in France. And hybrids: Luyng, Bane, Becky and, very exclusive, Miho?

I use standart MMA chars for pvp, they are good, if there is no enemies with val+7 (my setup is evil+7:))
In fact, Arnis is too real martial art, and not for dagger.
By the way, tonfa for Ania is most commonly associated with the Okinawan martial arts (derives from a millstone handle used by peasants). So, Ania is MMA char too))

Arnis and stance with tonfa...

Yes! Arnis, also known as Kali or Eskrima/Escrima, is the national martial art of the Philipines. In this game we have escrima and arnis (and this is GREAT!) ;) All this born from DESTREZA - Espanol tradition fencing.

I forgot tonfas martial arts. Beautiful and rare weapon from Okinava \^_^/
