Do you think all the server customization makes the server "balance?"

Balanced as in everyone is fair in PVP/PVE etc.

If you do not think its fair please post below why.

Feedback from these posts may help the server developer or owner improve the server.

as far as PVE is concerned, it definitely is not balanced in the slightest. there's a strong and very clear distinction between characters to the point that only a few are worth using because of just how insanely strong they are. this balance is also further skewed towards mages due to how the resistances/defense of bosses work out. but because those few characters are so prominent, no one wants to change it because it's easier to just copy instead of actually playing around with the absolutely massive character count we get here.

it's pretty clear the devs here have the ability to change character skills/abilities, but don't want to. i will always advocate for it, since it'd force people to actually think and make new setups.

A look at GE sytes will tell the obvious truth that it is not balanced, some characters like chunghua can forgo having racials on her weapon for example because her stance gives her so much damage already, and we are just talking about comparisons between rare characters, expand that to quest recruitable characters and the problem exacerbates even further...

jGE at least gave characters anywhere from simple damage buffs to their stances or that and gave them more stats and in some cases give them new and exclusive stances, I remember playing jGE and all the raids I did was with stock characters, hell even ToC Hard i finished with just stock fighter with equites, stock wiz and stock mus, did not bother with a scout since they gave principal potions plentily, first time i did that playing GE whereas in other servers Scout is always a must...

I can understand admin not wanting to touch balancing because even rebalancing one character can go wrong and it can get out of hand very quickly, not to mention the rainstorm of balance request for all characters coming from different people, I agree it can potentially end the sad balancing state the game is currently in but its tedious as hell to do for a small team let alone a single person and probably not worth the time and labor unless half the server population donates on a regular basis...

rGE admin is releasing server files, database files with setup instructions on the day of rGE's shutdown, when that day comes, Im sure someone dedicated or crazy enough will attempt to rebalance them and host a new private server with said changes, as for me though, im going to host it privately and attempt to change things myself based on my preference because really the balancing all comes down to personal preference, and IMC balanced the game this way because it prefers making money from egotistical whales instead of making the general server population happy so there's that...

This game has never been known to be balanced. sense all of the newest and greatest characters are cash in other servers its clear they are looking to make a lot of money with each release getting better and better for damage. i would love if some old characters did get balanced in. it is a nightmare trying to make all characters usable though. with pvp now its just a 1 shot fest for the most part so i would like to see that change to make pvp more fun. I know there was a suggestion a long while ago about a 25% pvp damage reduction similar to how rge had the 50% reduction. it was too early for dianmar to decide if it was necissary or not at the time. unfortunately that would make some characters that have set damage(like valeria vendetta) be more useless sense the skill was not made to do insane damage while ignoring defense and resistance.

i love the idea of characters being balanced but im not sure if it is possible without a fulltime person dedicated to balancing characters. even then there is enough characters that it would still be a long task

I think PvP isnt ballanced at all.For example , i low level gear up(like eln/greek/evil or BH 34ar weps) if meet someone with full set of deus or high end stuff = NO CHANCE OF WINNING
So i suggest enter PvP for all with same gear so the fight will be even. - guess that was on Reboldeux server in World PvP-
In the fields if they beat up each other,thats their problems there is all on faction leaders if they want to be in enemy state for others.
PvE is relative balanced,no problem there(mostly ;))

Server is definitely not balanced and a few tweaks would go a long way to minimizing the existing power-gap between the weaker & stronger characters. Many of the newer characters simply outclass the older characters in many aspects - especially in DPS.

It only takes a little effort on the part of the devs to actually do this. I'm willing to do it myself and post suggestions but, I don't think this server is receptive to adjusting character balance as far as I've read in older posts.

Of course, it's an impossible task to achieve a perfectly balanced game with the number of characters that are available. However, this doesn't mean simple balance changes can't be done to minimize the power-gap between the stronger/meta characters and the weaker/outdated characters.

This isnt about character balance, this is about player balance. As in "is this pay to win or not". On that note , it is much better than the official service, but its still not perfect. There are always gonna be players that spend more and get a greater edge , even if the meta characters and high end gear are easily accessible to every player. This issue is due to the general nature of a MMORPG business model and partly due to GE it self. Having 15 stages of gear enhancement, due to the gear breaking after stage 7, makes it so that a paying player has a greater chance of going past 7. I am not sure that this is even a solvable problem, because a solution could seriously damage the service providers finances. The solution would be to increase all the drop rates to the point where one could easily obtain dozens of high end pieces of equipment in a single gaming session , making it possible for everyone to reach the last stage of enhancement. Otherwords , caping the progression. That would also require the pay options to increase both in price and reward( by hundredfold), making it so the player can essentially 100% the game with a couple hundred bucks.This would be problematic since a constantly running service depends on returning customers rather than one time buyers. To summary: Is it balanced? No. Can it be balanced? Probably. How to balance it? Fuck if i know.

It is NOT balanced in any way and I think it was part of the game design, the mechanics, the missions, and the characters do not help, it's like embrace the new and forget the old.

The balance will be difficult because the mechanics and the different character tiers, but I think at least we can start on doing more enjoyable the certain stuff.

Talking about character changes first we need to have in mind that we have two main categories free and premium/CS only and then we have different tiers based on the advantage it can give us. The modifications on characters should be done for the ones that are in day/night disadvantage against higher tiers. For example at this moment, we have tiers SS,S,A,B,C and we should work on tiers B & C to improve them to be a better tier to be enjoyable or have a chance in certain situations. Also, I think SS tier should be on limited time.

In my opinion, we should close the gap between the different tiers, having in mind that free and premium should not be mixed.

How can be done the character changes? I know there are pros/cons in the following suggestions:

1. Well the most obvious is modding the character stats/stances one by one. Which ones first? that's another topic.
2. Give permanent or a rotation buff to very old/classic chars and adjust where needed. I know there is already something similar but be realistic
3. Introduce a test server or test missions where only certain characters are modded/buffed.
4. Review the old debuff/trigger skills because some of them are not working 100% as stated as we can see against the actual stances.

Now, talking about missions and raids as said before, the new ones will take over the actual ones, and the very old will be forgotten or erased.

I think the problem with the missions and raids is the adaptability, as most of the RPG games is, so based in what I've seen in other games we can do the following:

1. Test with missions a debuff mode on the team where the debuff is proportional to the character level and/or equipped gear.
2. In a similar way as the previous point, the Boss and mobs can acquire additional buffs/debuffs/cooldown/stats based on the squad team or equipped gears.
3. Give Debuff/Buffs to the squad if certain characters are present in the mission/raid.

I know any changes require time and effort, and some changes have more impact than others, and even some changes could be impossible due to the game design.
