There're an option to change draw distance for other players. Set it to minimum- voila, you see no one, you can use NPCs like MM without it being covered by Nars, Barrols and Claude.
You'll still have all kind of interactions- can be burlon'ed, can recieve buffs from other ppl if you want to, and so on.
