I don't need to spot steal to make your character stop attacking. Simply running pass you while looking for a spot is already enough, especially in Ancient territory.
If these sort of thing are oblivious to you, then you probably have very little hours in the core game itself.

I am citing RGE because it's the only other private server out there, and has features that can be beneficial to the server.

And SCR is not the only place to AFK.
haha can you stop? you just try to insult me i am new or nub but you not making any good arguments, i just stated my opinion about it ok? and i am against it regardless of your reaction, deal with it LOL. i afk at night i am dead sometimes as well or stop afk and? the changes would bring more bad stuff than good, alt abusage (main would not need to be areound to lvl up alt, cuz even if alt kicked 2km back he would go to spot and continue dps), spot taking (op people would cover a wider range of spawn spots) etc...now beside not beeing dead tell me what else good brings? and i am done with you i stated my opinion and i am out :D have fun

I countered all of your argument on why you think this is bad with facts.

The moment you ask me to 'Deal with it' is when your point of view becomes obselete.

I certainly wanted this feature to be improve, hence why I defend it with facts if someone think it is a bad idea.

Auto keep + a fix amount of range set around 1600?
1600 - 1800 seems about right, no manual adjustment to avoid wide spot afk where it might end up KS other players. Melee does not just wander off and stop the auto keep, and range will stay put and fire whatever enters the firing range.

Yes if you a spot stealer you can make me stop ofc, i wonder if you new, if cant afk properly in this old game. Redsuns pointed out another valid argument against, big ranged chars will be able to afk on more than one spot ksing other weaker players. All like to cite rge changes but people play here, so weird. i know some people who went with 3 csc/cc in scr taking even 3 spots in scr cuz of this change so pls XD
Tell me how to take 3 spot, prove it!! Even with range 2000 and 3 CC I can't take more than 2 spot! Because they will move far enough to stop attacking! I play rGE for more than 5 years, My CC/CSC is my main AFK team and they strong enough to kill 1 vespa less than 1s, I can spot my char at Zone 4 SCR, take 2 spot without problem. I have never set my char to take 3 spot. It simply because high range char + high range afk = if each char move too far than others, they will run back near each other and stop attack, range 2000 take 2 spot easy. But now we have 5 channel in SCR, why should i ksing you? (For example).
I suggest to have 1600 and 1800 as we can adjust only that 2 options. Why Shooting char have 15m in range but only attack when monster in 10m range only? (Yes, we are now at 1000 = 10m range)

Our aim is to make game active-playing friendly, we want to keep the afking-part of the game as low as possible.

There is no sense in having better rewards from AFKing (zero effort) than from active-playing.
Yet I understand how it can be frustrating if you leave the computer for an hour and realize when you come back that 2 minutes after you have left, charaters stopped attacking.

As a result we will deliver a compromise:
1. We will enable an "Improved Keep Mode" which works similar to the one players from rGE know, yet is nowhere as good as players know from bots.
This means in many cases characters will continue attacking when using the improved keep mode. This mode will not enable people to run their alts 24/7 on a map though.

2. We will enable a new function called "Keep Range", players can use CTRL & N+ (Numpad+) to increase or CTRL & N- (Numpad-) to decrease the Keep Range.
The default Keep Range is 1000 and it can be increased up to 1500.

Both functions can be combined if wanted.

Thank you, for someone who primarily afks in Ancient more than SCR, I can now bring out the Melee characters.
