[DECLINED]Reduce Faction withdraw/disband penalty

I think the penalty should be reduced to 1 day.

It just seems kind of unnecessary for the penalty to be a full week when most other servers (rGE and JGE specifically), have a penalty of only 1 day. Especially since factions nowadays are essentially MANDATORY in order to do main-line quests. Plus people tend to make mistakes and the heavy penalty is just horrible for a simple mistake.

It is news to me that rGE has such a feature. As for jGE, it is a bad example since they don't care about cheating, botting and people creating tons of accounts.
The 7 days penalty makes sense by design so players actually stick to their factions and switch less, especially when it comes to Colony Wars and Clique Battle.

I am against such a change as long as there is a risk of "abusal", which is even higher due to players trying to create more than 2 accounts.
We have to constantly ban people who try to do this. But let's see what other players think about this change.

Turns out i was wrong about rGE's penalty (it is 7 days).

Can you explain to me the "abusal" that could happen if this change were made? I'm more so asking for curiosity than anything else because the only concept i was aware of when it came to this (even though it's rarely ever happened, at least nowadays) is the ability to "spy" on other factions. (not sure how often it's done on any server tbh)

tbh, the clique system never really made sense to me since most factions (with a few exceptions) tend to just follow the norm and pick only one side. Only useful thing for it now is the Tierra buff. This is done in every server (including this one).

As for Colony War. Right now it seems to be completely controlled by one sole faction (which hilariously enough is one of the "exceptions" i mentioned earlier). So what is the current incentive to do Colony Wars besides the usual Plat Bars it gives per colony control (or is that just it).

Again, most of this is just curiosity but i'll still stand by my point that a whole week is just ridiculous for how many important quests tend to be locked behind faction limitations (which to be blunt is a really stupid design imo). And if you want my example, Altria recruitment, which is locked behind Jaquin Prison raid (the one for Valeria), even though in official servers, it's locked behind Chrysalis (which even with the new system, still would have kind of made sense).

If it is possible, I think a 5 day or even shorter penalty sounds about right provided the following condition is met :
Should a player changes faction especially CW related faction, that player should not be allowed by system to join that week's CW until the following week. (less cooldown, miss out on 1 week's CW) I think this is equivalent to the original 7 days penalty.

I think this allows PVE players to switch more often yes but it's only PVE. Nothing much will change.
Just my 2 cents.

The royalist/republican faction does not determine which side you end up in clique battle. You can fight for Simon or Gabriella regardless. They have balanced the system so for example, it's highly unlikely Nemesis and HotBoys will fight on the same side in one week.

Some games already have a feature of one day clan hopping and personally I am against it for that experience. I think it's a huge downside to see players try out 20 clans in a month in those games. It makes it that much harder to find loyalty and progress as a clan. Here specifically, seven days isn't a big deal as the amount of active clans here is miniscule compared to some games with huge player bases. I'm talking 10,000+ concurrent players.

The game mechanics do not allow this. I can't add any conditions that influence the duration of penalty.
Your suggestion about a reduction from 7 to 5 days seems to be fair, I kindly ask other players to tell what they think about 5 days penalty.

I find it fair, people who leave factions usually have to wait 7 days for it and they miss out on activities/TDLS buff amongst other stuff. I dont see the harm in reducing it to 5 days.

I was thinking in penalty reduction since i came back to play in GE and withdraw from my old faction, 4 or 5 days could be as effective as 7 days. So, I find it really fair.

We invested about 4 hours investigating and changing this today. Any change to the values will cause the penalty mechanic to break.
As we first thought it can't be configured and we tried a custom solution that tempers with the database, which can cause instability.

Update 1: We have found a custom solution that is currently working, as result penalty will be changed from 7 to 5 days.
We will further test this and if no problems occur it will be implemented with next maintenance.

Update 2 (02.01.2021): This custom solution has been giving us so many issues that we have decided to cancel the implementation.
The suggestion has been rejected since spending even more time on this topic is no good.
Just for clarification once more: It is declined not for the actual change of the behaviour but for technical issues.
